  1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi I’m Ali and I live in Co Wicklow beside the sea with my husband and our two children Harry & Nicole. I am expecting baby number three in December. A couple of years ago I took a leap from full time work and I decided to start my own business called Craftea Parties. I do arts and crafts themed birthday parties for Children all over Dublin & Wicklow. I now work from home during the week between school runs and at weekends I do the parties. I have just written my first booked “Get Crafty” which will be out early next year with Mercier Press Ireland.
  2. When did you start a blog and why did you decide to start it?
I originally started a blog called Craftea Classes which was all about arts and crafts. I really enjoyed this but I wanted to be able to write about other things apart from crafts so that’s where Heyali came from. I just started Heyali this year and so far I’m really enjoying it. At the moment I’m writing a weekly pregnancy update which is not something I ever thought I would share online but it’s just like writing a diary except other people can read it and it will be lovely to have in years to come to read back over.
  3. What inspires your blog posts?
My children inspire most of my blog posts. This is a great time of year for a parenting blogger as it’s the Summer so the kids are off on holidays. We have been doing loads of crafts, baking and exploring new places so I pretty much blog about everyday things that we do together.
  4. How do you promote your blog? Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest? Which method do you prefer?
I try my best to do a bit of promtion across all the different platforms. My favourite by far is Instagram. Alot of the things I do are quite visual so Instragram is the one I spend the most time on.I also use Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
  5. Share your three favourite posts with us and tell us why you picked them.

Cotton Bud Painting Summer Craft For Kids

This is the most popular post on my blog so far and I love it because it’s such a simple and inexpensive idea that anyone can do with their kids. These are always the best crafts.

An Afternoon At The National Garden Exibition Centre

One of our many Summer adventures. We visited one of our favourite local places after it was re-opened and re-vamped

Week 22 Bump Update and Big Scan In Holles Street

I’m loving keeping a weekly diary of my 3rd pregnancy. I wish I had done this before, such a lovely memory to have.
